Individuating

Friday, 29th July 2016 Kunstverein am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz 19:00-21:00

The participants of SFSIA, Berlin created an exhibition to mark the end of the program, bringing together ideas of Individuation with a series of installations and performances, which were on view at the Kunstverein am Rosa–Luxemburg–Platz for one night. The curatorial approach was based around the individual relation of each work to the others in the space. With only 24 hours to install— and that also being the first engagement with many of the works— the thematic focused on this pressurized time frame and embedded the after party as part of the show. It focused on ideas of duration, time and ephemerality of the exhibition space similarly to the experience of the school. ‘Individuating’ 2016 ran from 6:00am to 6:00am the next day. Install, opening and after party were treated as one cohesive whole.
