SESSION TWO: August 3-13, 2020

Application Information

Application Deadline: June 28

Fee: $500 USD per session

Applications for SFSIA | 2020 are open to students, practitioners and scholars from the fields of art (including video, painting, photography, sculpture and installation), design, architecture, critical writing, neuroscience, science and technology studies, critical theory, cultural studies, film and media studies, and beyond.

Each session will consist of a range of seminars, workshops and lectures with a variety of speakers. This discourse-oriented program will include a required Reader and opportunities to connect with other participants (both formally and informally) throughout each session, and as part of our growing family of alumni. Additionally, a select number of lectures will be open to the public to invite conversation, debate, and inquiry across communities. Please see the Session One and Two schedules for more information.

For this online version we have reconfigured the program to be able to offer it at a fraction of the price of our regular program, however, we are unable to offer further scholarships or financial aid. We encourage applicants who require additional financial assistance to seek outside funding and can provide letters of support and other materials as needed for those application processes.

To apply please email a single PDF (8mb max) labeled “LASTNAME_FIRST.pdf” and formatted in the following manner to apply@sfsia.art with the subject line “SFSIA 2020 – SESSION (JULY/AUGUST) – NAME” by the June 28 deadline. You may use this downloadable application .doc as reference.
